Signed Off !!!
Monday, September 25th, 2006I saw my Consultant Hepatologist recently for the first time in over a year. Last time, I was on my last legs just near the end of 48 weeks of treatment. This time I was 9 months post-treatment and still PCR negative.
He said he was really pleased with my progress and signed me off from his Clinic. Get myself a PCR test occasionally through my GP and have my LFT’s done once in a while, if I feel like it. Welcome to come back if I ever need to and good-bye.
That’s it - done, signed off!
No more being a patient. I had envisaged yearly tests (like I’ve heard others who have cleared the virus talk about) for the next five years - a bit like being in remission. But no, I am now discharged and officially a healthy person again.
Been living with the good news for a while now so I thought it was time to I share it here …..
