Signed Off !!!
I saw my Consultant Hepatologist recently for the first time in over a year. Last time, I was on my last legs just near the end of 48 weeks of treatment. This time I was 9 months post-treatment and still PCR negative.
He said he was really pleased with my progress and signed me off from his Clinic. Get myself a PCR test occasionally through my GP and have my LFT’s done once in a while, if I feel like it. Welcome to come back if I ever need to and good-bye.
That’s it - done, signed off!
No more being a patient. I had envisaged yearly tests (like I’ve heard others who have cleared the virus talk about) for the next five years - a bit like being in remission. But no, I am now discharged and officially a healthy person again.
Been living with the good news for a while now so I thought it was time to I share it here …..

Hi Ron
Congratulations on becoming a non-patient at last! Great news. Interesting how different hospitals take different views on it. Ours wants 3 negative tests, and then they will sign you off, so just one more to go for me…
Happy days to you, great to hear you so well!
All the best

Way to go, Ron! Now it’s time to dust yourself off and get back to your previously scheduled life.
Know that your success is contributing to the resolve of many out there (myself included) to see treatment through and join you in the land of the living.
Cheer-i-o!

Hello. I just had my first injection today- am waiting up to see if the flu appears. Hope I’m where you are in 18 months! I know it effects everyone differently, but I feel more prepared having read your blog. Maybe the first few weeks won’t be the hardest. Maybe I won’t feel fluey but it will still be tough. That whatever happens I just have to give myself the support I need.
Best wishes.
Becca.

Dear Ron,
Congratulations on your success and well-being! You are an inspiration to so many! Since stumbling across this (I had never even read a blog before) I have learned much about the disease, people’s responses, and how important support is. The forum is well-maintained, the cast of characters grows, a one of a kind resource- Thank you and best wishes, Cathy

Adding to the best wishes. In addition to your personal victory, you’ve created a living legacy that will help bring others to the same point. That’s a well-made mark on the world.
Congratulations, thanks, and welcome back to your life.

Way to go, that is great news. You should now think about restoring your health in a natural way. I sent you my web page. I also have Hep c I just went to my doctor a month ago, and the Hep C is doing nothing to my liver. The big Zero! I have been taking mangosteen for a while now. I believe that it has helped me tremendously. Cell to Cell communication has done wonders for my liver to stay healthy. If you would like to try the mangosteen juice go to my web page and check out all the information on it. Good to hear that you made it through the rough treatment.

Ron writes: Thanks for your comments Kelly. I’m really pleased for you that you have found something that makes you feel so positive.
You don’t say if you have had treatment or not. If you haven’t been through treatment, you still have the virus even if your liver shows no symptoms.
Inevitably the virus will affect your liver - perhaps not today but sometime. So far only combination therapy has proven effective in clearing the virus. So I send you and others a cautionary note.
I have removed the links to your website as I don’t support commercial sites.

Hi Ron,
What an amazing story, the first one I have heard since being diagnosed two months ago along with my seven year old daughter. I am still in shock and am hoping she is cured if nothing else. You are truely a remarkable man and I wish you every success in your life.
